Washington Township is 6-1 against Lake Station Edison since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Senators will challenge the Fighting Eagles at 4:30 p.m.

On Monday, Washington Township came up short against South Central and fell 7-2.

Meanwhile, Lake Station Edison made easy work of Calumet New Tech on Tuesday and carried off a 28-3 win. With that victory, the Fighting Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

Kiersten Harmon made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, Lake Station Edison got a massive performance out of Jean Marie Davis, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with 11 stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those 11 stolen bases gave Davis a new career-high. Alexis Vaughan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Lake Station Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .850. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Washington Township now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lake Station Edison, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

Washington Township took their victory against Lake Station Edison in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 29-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Senators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
