Basketball Recap: Cherokee Trail Starts off Right with Win over Frederick

Cherokee Trail had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They secured a 61-56 W over the Frederick Golden Eagles on Monday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 57-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cherokee Trail found their leader in sophomore Anthony Ayon, who went 5-for-6 en route to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Justyn Renfroe, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Coming up, Cherokee Trail will take on Arvada West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frederick, they will challenge Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
