Softball Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Chaparral Firebirds
If Desert Edge was feeling good fresh off their 15-8 takedown of North Canyon last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Desert Edge lost 18-1 to the Chaparral Firebirds on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Thursday.
Desert Edge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Fatigoni (2027), who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Fatigoni (2027) hit this season.
Desert Edge now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Chaparral, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Edge will face off against Buckeye at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Edge will need to watch out since Buckeye has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Chaparral, they will take on Notre Dame Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
