Basketball Recap: Twiggs County Comes Up Short

Twiggs County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 51-41 to the Georgia Military College Bulldogs. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

Despite the loss, Twiggs County still got an impressive performance from Nashawn Durham, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Terrell Coley, who had eight points.

Georgia Military College can attribute much of their success to Walt Greene, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Greene has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Tommy Carty was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Twiggs County's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Georgia Military College, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Twiggs County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-41 defeat against Central Fellowship Christian Academy on the 22nd. As for Georgia Military College, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-54 loss against Hancock Central on the 23rd.
