Basketball Recap: Midfield Piles Up the Points Against Altamont

Midfield won the last time they faced Altamont and things went their way on Monday too. The Midfield Patriots simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Altamont Knights 57-28. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Midfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamiya Webb, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards. Webb has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 45 times she's played. Lauren Stokes was another key player, going 11 of 15 on her way to 23 points.

Midfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.7 points. As for Altamont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clay-Chalkville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midfield is facing Clay-Chalkville at the right time seeing as Clay-Chalkville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Altamont, they will take on Comer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
