Softball Game Preview: South Gate Rams vs. Legacy Tigers

For the second straight game, South Gate will face off against Legacy. The Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

South Gate made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Legacy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Legacy's part, Dail Dorado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Yesenia Villegas was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for South Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
