Baseball Game Preview: Luther Lions vs. Meeker Bulldogs

The Luther Lions will head out to challenge the Meeker Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Luther came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Crescent by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Luther saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aden Henke, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Meeker lost 10-3 to Davenport.

Luther's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Meeker, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.

Everything went Luther's way against Meeker in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Luther made off with a 12-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
