Baseball Recap: Ranburne Takes a Loss

Ranburne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Piedmont. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Piedmont this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 back in March.

Ranburne's loss dropped their record down to 22-11-1. As for Piedmont, they pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Ranburne and Piedmont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Bulldogs will face off against Isabella at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (128 vs. 296). Meanwhile, Piedmont (ranked 54th) will meet Vinemont (ranked 287th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
