Softball Recap: Costa Mesa Takes a Loss

Costa Mesa lost against Savanna back in February of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Costa Mesa Mustangs took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Savanna Rebels.

Victoria Rios was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Pamela Kibin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Costa Mesa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Costa Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Savanna, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Costa Mesa and Savanna will both be playing Bell Gardens the next time they take the field. Costa Mesa will host Bell Gardens at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Savanna will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
