Three Rivers recap Oct. 3, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Whitko, who took down 170th ranked North Miami, 13-10.

Tippecanoe Valley extended the longest winning streak in Three Rivers this week by beating Rochester, 27-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Tippecanoe Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ben Shriver threw for 118 and one touchdown and Tanner Andrews had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Gunter chipped in 84 yards. Mason Teel helped Tippecanoe Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.

Tippecanoe Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Shriver has thrown for 943 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Andrews has 26 catches for 490 yards. Gunter leads the league in rushing with 390 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Tippecanoe Valley takes on second place North Miami. Last week, Jeff Shriver's team topped the Zebras, while the Warriors lost to the Wildcats.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when North Miami takes on the Vikings. Greg Miller's team has allowed 103 points this season, while Tippecanoe Valley has given up 80. The Warriors allowed 13 points last week as they lost to Whitko.

Manchester and Southwood played the most hotly contested game in Three Rivers this week, with Manchester eventually emerging with a 30-27 victory.
