Basketball Recap: Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars vs. Hauser Jets
Greenwood Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since January 7th on Thursday. They had to suffer through an 80-49 loss at the hands of the Hauser Jets. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hauser to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stryker Gill, who posted 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Gill is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Collin Buck was another key player, shooting 80% from the field on his way to 20 points.
Greenwood Christian Academy dropped their record down to 10-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hauser, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-3.
Greenwood Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hauser, they will take on Shawe Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hauser knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Shawe Memorial likes a good challenge.
