Basketball Recap: Samson Drops Highest Score of Season Against Slocomb + How To Watch

Samson hadn't done well against Slocomb recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 58-35 margin over the Red Tops. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Samson was led to victory by Kelin Hornsby and Tyler Lamb. Hornsby posted 21 points along with seven boards and six steals, while Lamb dropped a double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds. With that strong performance, Lamb is now averaging an impressive 9 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben McKenzie, who had eight points and 12 boards.

Samson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Samson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Slocomb, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Samson and Slocomb will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Tigers see the court they'll take on Pike Liberal Arts at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Slocomb, their break will end when they face Ariton at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
