Baseball Recap: Glendale's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pasadena, Glendale was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hoover Tornados, sneaking past 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Nitros as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ace Baker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Tapia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. August Kalaba was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Glendale's record now sits at 5-19. As for Hoover, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Glendale beat the Tornados by a score of 10-2 on Friday.
