Baseball Recap: Yreka's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Yreka won the last time they faced Anderson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Miners put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp 19-0 victory. With that win, the Miners brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Klayton Rizzardo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Yreka got a massive performance out of Brody Zediker, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Zediker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laydon Luce, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Yreka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Yreka's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Anderson, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Yreka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-7 win against Central Valley on the 6th. As for Anderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 18-3 defeat against University Prep on the 6th.
