Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Summit Academy's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Summit Academy won the last time they faced Brooklyn Community Arts & Media and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Summit Academy Eagles came out on top against the Brooklyn Community Arts & Media Lions by a score of 59-50. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Lions are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summit Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasper Meissner, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The matchup was Meissner's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Rodriguez, who had 13 points.

Summit Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points per game. As for Brooklyn Community Arts & Media, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.

Summit Academy will host Science Skills Center High School For Science, Technology And The Creative Arts at 4:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Brooklyn Community Arts & Media, they are taking a road trip to challenge Brooklyn Studio at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
