Basketball Recap: Dawson Springs Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Dawson Springs was not quite McLean County's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 70-61 to the McLean County Cougars. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Dawson Springs still got an impressive performance from Rex Blue, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Montgomery Johnston, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Dawson Springs' loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for McLean County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McLean County, they will welcome Allen County-Scottsville at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
