Irvine came tearing into Tuesday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the University Trojans by a score of 53-43. The Vaqueros pushed the score to 44-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Irvine was led to victory by Jalen Yim and Cooper Stearns. Yim went 7 for 10 on his way to 17 points, while Stearns posted eight points and 15 boards. Stearns is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Stearns, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points.

Irvine was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only racked up six assists.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Evans, who had 19 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Eli Pretto, who earned ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Irvine's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. As for University, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-12.

Irvine will square off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Irvine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for University, they will take on Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Evans and Jaiden Sabino.
