Recap: Crothersville Tigers vs. South Decatur Cougars
The Crothersville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against South Decatur, falling 70-28. Crothersville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Decatur apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
South Decatur's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makalya Somers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kiley Best, who scored 14 points.
Crothersville bumped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for South Decatur, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crothersville will take on Dugger Union at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Decatur, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Waldron at 6:30 p.m. Waldron is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
