Basketball Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

Carthage lost against Nixa two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Carthage Tigers were outmatched by the Nixa Eagles and fell 71-31. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Carthage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Nixa, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Carthage and Nixa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Carthage (ranked 32nd) will meet Waynesville (ranked 304th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carthage is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Nixa will challenge Joplin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 134 places (6 vs. 140).
