Softball Recap: La Serna Drops Highest Score of Season Against Edison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Serna). They put the hurt on the Edison Chargers with a sharp 14-3 victory on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lancers with their most commanding win of the season.

Isabela Sanchez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Cann Puig was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

La Serna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

La Serna's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Serna will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on April 3. As for Edison, they will challenge Marina at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
