KIPP San Jose Collegiate came out on top against North Valley Baptist by a score of 57-50 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for KIPP San Jose Collegiate.
Leading KIPP San Jose Collegiate to victory were Christian Ademe-Johnson and Jonathan Mendoza. Ademe-Johnson scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Mendoza scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The matchup was Ademe-Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Juan Ayala, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds.
North Valley Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Lara, who scored 12 points. The matchup was Lara's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Lopez, who scored 11 points.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for North Valley Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate will be playing at home against El Primero at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. El Primero is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for North Valley Baptist, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 64.6 points per game, Mountain View Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
