Basketball Game Preview: Cibola Cougars vs. Albuquerque Bulldogs

The Cibola Cougars will challenge the Albuquerque Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cibola is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Valley 66-30.

Meanwhile, Albuquerque came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by the Hawks 28-27. The 28-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Cibola's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Albuquerque, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Cibola came up short against Albuquerque when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 43-32. Can Cibola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
