Volleyball Recap: Rockledge Beats Cocoa Beach for Their Fourth Straight Win

Rockledge entered their tilt with Cocoa Beach on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Minutemen. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Minutemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Rockledge walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 22-25, 25-16, 28-26.

Taylor Mertz paced Rockledge's offense, picking up 13 kills. Mertz got some help from Madison Gutke and her 23 assists. Mertz was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Rockledge's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Cocoa Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Rockledge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against West Shore on the 23rd. As for Cocoa Beach, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Palm Bay on the 23rd.
