Volleyball Recap: First Baptist Christian Triumphs

First Baptist Christian's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Mentor Christian. That's more bragging rights for the Sabres, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

First Baptist Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 15-25, 25-12.

Kate Burman paced First Baptist Christian's offense, picking up 14 kills. Burman got some help from Joanna Wacker and her 28 assists. Wacker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

First Baptist Christian's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Mentor Christian, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

First Baptist Christian and Mentor Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Sabres see the court they'll take on Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Mentor Christian, their break will end when they face Christian Community at 6:30 p.m. on the 17th.
