Basketball Game Preview: Valley Buffalos vs. Panguitch Bobcats

Valley hasn't had much luck against Panguitch recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Valley Buffalos will venture away from home to face off against the Panguitch Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Valley will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Wayne, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Valley walked away with a 61-49 win over Wayne on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Panguitch waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Mustangs 69-47. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Valley better keep an eye on Daxton Miller. He was instrumental in Panguitch's win, going 7-for-10 to rack up 20 points and eight boards. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Remme Chappell, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

Panguitch pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Valley came up short against Panguitch when the teams last played back in January, falling 59-49. Can Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
