Midview won the last time they faced Elyria and things went their way on Thursday too. The Middies put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While Midview won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-13.

Midview's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-11. As for Elyria, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Midview and Elyria could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Middies will face off against Olmsted Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (322 vs. 18). Meanwhile, Elyria (ranked 568th) will meet Berea-Midpark (ranked 271st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
