Softball Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. Chapel Hill Tigers

Northwood was the 8-5 winner over Chapel Hill when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Northwood Chargers lost 18-4 to the Chapel Hill Tigers on Wednesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allison Bryant was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ava Bain also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Chapel Hill, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Northwood is taking a road trip to take on Graham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwood has given up an average of 15.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Chapel Hill, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Chapel Hill Tigers challenge Athens Drive Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens Drive has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.63 runs per game on average), something Chapel Hill will no doubt try to take advantage of.
