Baseball Recap: Taylor County Bulldogs vs. Wakulla War Eagles
Taylor County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 13-6 to the Wakulla War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.
Mason Campbell and Landon Lopez did some serious damage despite the final result: Campbell got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Lopez went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Lopez has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Britt Jimenez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Taylor County's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Wakulla, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11 record.
Looking ahead, Taylor County will be playing in front of their home fans against Echols County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wakulla, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against Bartram Trail on the 3rd.
