The Frontier Regional Red Hawks will challenge the Wahconah Regional Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wahconah Regional took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Frontier Regional, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Frontier Regional earned a 7-4 victory over Turners Falls. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Jack Cusson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brady Poreda was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Frontier Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turners Falls only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Wahconah Regional came up short against South Hadley on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Colby Robb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wahconah Regional saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam McLaughlin, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Frontier Regional's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Wahconah Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
