Dupo is 2-8 against New Athens since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. Dupo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Dupo took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Wesclin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Warriors 2-1 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Kylie Kloess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

Meanwhile, New Athens took on Chester in a bug-themed battle on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets fell 7-3 to the Yellowjackets. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
New Athens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Dupo's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for New Athens, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Dupo's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for New Athens, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Dupo continue to outrun the ball?
Dupo took their victory against New Athens in their previous meeting on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellow Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
