Football Recap: Beyer Comes Up Short

After flying high against Enochs last Friday, Beyer came back down to earth. The Patriots took a 12-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Escalon Cougars on Wednesday.

Heaven Oliver threw for 73 yards on seven of 12 attempts. Gabriella Garcia was her top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.

The critical scores for Escalon came from Yesenia Marsellis and Jasmine Barron.

Beyer dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Escalon, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beyer will face off against Johansen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Escalon, they will square off against San Ramon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
