Ponte Vedra is 9-1 against Menendez since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Ponte Vedra Sharks will head out on the road to take on the Menendez Falcons at 6:30 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Ponte Vedra took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Andrew Jackson as Ponte Vedra made off with a 58-35 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Sharks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Tigers are ranked 99th).

Ponte Vedra found their leader in freshman Jocelyn Hoffmann, who went 6 for 12 en route to 18 points. The matchup was Hoffmann's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Arden Doherty was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Menendez). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 63-30 victory over Palatka. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons who have now won five contests in a row.
Ponte Vedra better keep an eye on Sophia Scibelli. She was instrumental in Menendez's win, putting up 31 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Scibelli has scored at least a third of Menendez's points. Another player making a difference was Lucia Warner, who posted five points along with 12 rebounds, eight assists, and seven blocks.
Menendez has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ponte Vedra has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Menendez struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Ponte Vedra against Menendez in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, as the squad secured a 51-15 win. Will Ponte Vedra repeat their success, or does Menendez have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
