Basketball Recap: Crossroads Comes Up Short

Crossroads's tournament run continued when they took on California on Saturday. The Crossroads Roadrunners took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 34th).

DANE WALLACE was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for California. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayde Kuykendall, who posted ten points.

Crossroads has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for California, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Crossroads will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Viewpoint at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for California, they will challenge Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. California is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
