Baseball Recap: Waukesha South Takes a Loss

Waukesha South had lost nine straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-19 to make it ten. They fell 5-2 to the Mukwonago Indians. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Blackshirts, who fell 5-3 when the teams last met back in May of 2024.

Dom Spannbauer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Alex Montez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

As for Mukwonago, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victory was familiar territory for they, who have now won seven contests in a row.

On Mukwonago's side, they got a great performance from Caden Baker as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braedon Vogds, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

While Waukesha South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
