Softball Recap: Briarwood Christian Comes Up Short

Briarwood Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 15-5 to the Homewood Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Wednesday.

Peyton Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. Taylor Forrester was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Briarwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Homewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briarwood Christian will take on Shelby County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Homewood, they will challenge Minor at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
