If Edgewood was riding high fresh off their 62-42 takedown of Mineola last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Edgewood Bulldogs fell to the Grand Saline Indians 66-60. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Grand Saline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Mayne led the charge by going 8 of 16 en route to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Mayne is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Kolton Prox was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven boards.

Edgewood's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-12. As for Grand Saline, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
