West Grand is 7-2 against Rangely since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. West Grand will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

West Grand is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Plateau Valley, who was ranked 19th at the time (West Grand was ranked 17th). The Mustangs secured a 20-14 W over the Cowboys on Friday. Those 20 points were actually the fewest the Mustangs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

West Grand's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Lockhart led the charge by rushing for 105 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Grand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plateau Valley only rushed for 89.

West Grand didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Blake Terryberry and Walker Howell.

Meanwhile, Rangely ended up a good deal behind Vail Christian on Friday and lost 36-20. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Rangely's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Grand, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

West Grand was able to grind out a solid win over Rangely when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 24-14. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
