Softball Recap: Rim of the World Fighting Scots vs. Fontana Steelers

Rim of the World had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-9-1 to make it six. They lost 13-3 to the Fontana Steelers. The Fighting Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Steelers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Fontana, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

For Fontana's part, Leia Armijo was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Armijo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Metzy Marquez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Rim of the World wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Arroyo Valley on the 25th. As for Fontana, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Notre Dame on the 25th.
