Basketball Recap: Bristol Central Skates Past Middletown with Ease

Bristol Central came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Middletown Blue Dragons 66-34. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Blue Dragons are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Middletown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rielle Jackson posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yori Perri-Rice, who scored six points and six boards.

Bristol Central's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Middletown, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Bristol Central will head out on the road to challenge Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bristol Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Hall likes a good challenge. Middletown has already played their next game (against Bristol Eastern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
