Soccer Game Preview: Jordan vs. Katy Taylor

The Jordan Warriors will face off against the Katy Taylor Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While Jordan's victory against Katy wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Jordan never let Katy get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Tigers are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite a strong season so far, Katy Taylor has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Katy on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly two goals.

Jordan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those nine matchups. Katy Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Jordan was able to grind out a solid victory over Katy Taylor in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-0. Does Jordan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Katy Taylor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
