Basketball Recap: Big Pine Takes a Loss

Big Pine suffered their biggest defeat since January 18, 2024 on Thursday. They took a blow against the Lone Pine Golden Eagles, falling 86-42. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Big Pine had strong showings from ADAM MILLER, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 13 points, and NOAH ERICSON, who posted nine points.

Lone Pine found their leader in sophomore Cristian Duran, who scored 24 points. Duran's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Perfecto Valdez, who earned 12 points.

Big Pine's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Lone Pine, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

Big Pine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-38 loss against Baker on the 24th. As for Lone Pine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-38 defeat against Bishop Union on the 24th.
