Football Recap: John Marshall Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

John Marshall dropped to 6-4 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Wheeling Park Patriots, falling 63-40. The Monarchs were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

As for Wheeling Park, their win bumped their record up to 6-4. That 23 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Wheeling Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennan Wack, who rushed for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Wack also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Patriots are 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Jay Bordas was another key passer, throwing for 315 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt.

John Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wheeling Park, they will challenge Woodrow Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Flying Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.22 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
