Baseball Recap: Jefferson Mustangs vs. Devine Warhorses
Jefferson proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Devine Warhorses 5-4. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 victory the Warhorses walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2019.
Alexzander Escobar made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Fernando Benitez-Ruiz was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Justin Ruiz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple.
