Baseball Recap: Crestline Comes Up Short

Crestline fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against New London on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Crestline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Rumple, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that Rumple has got this season.

Crestline's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for New London, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.

Looking ahead, Crestline will challenge Monroeville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New London, they will venture away from home to take on Loudonville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
