Softball Recap: Grayville Triumphs

Grayville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Red Hill, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Grayville put the hurt on Red Hill with a sharp 25-2 victory on Monday. The Bison not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21, 2024.

Emily Renshaw made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Grayville got a massive performance out of Briley Campbell, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Campbell a new career-high. Ava Kleinschmidt was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Grayville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Hill only posted an OBP of .222.

Grayville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Red Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Grayville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 26-1 victory against Webber on the 26th. As for Red Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-0 loss against Hutsonville/Palestine on the 26th.
