Baseball Recap: Marion-Franklin Find Success

Marion-Franklin came out on top against Walnut Ridge on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Red Devils took their contest against the Scots 11-7. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Scots: they've now won four in a row.

Marion-Franklin got a massive performance out of Maxin Warner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Warner has become a key player for the Red Devils: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Marion-Franklin's record is now 7-5. As for Walnut Ridge, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Marion-Franklin will head out to take on Beechcroft at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walnut Ridge, they will be playing at home against Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
