Soccer Game Preview: Hubbard vs. McKinley

Hubbard hasn't had much luck against McKinley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will challenge the Red Dragons at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hubbard came up short against Lakeview on Thursday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Hubbard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Lakeview are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, McKinley put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Poland Seminary. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

McKinley's one-goal win came courtesy of Kherington Stanford, who's now up to 34 this season.

McKinley's victory bumped their record up to 11-0-1. As for Hubbard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-2.

Hubbard might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from McKinley in their previous matchup on September 4th. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
