Basketball Game Preview: Pine Lake Prep Pride vs. North Stanly Comets

The Pine Lake Prep Pride will challenge the North Stanly Comets on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pine Lake Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Lincoln, sneaking past 43-40.

Meanwhile, North Stanly waltzed into their contest on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 43-23 victory. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 335th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pine Lake Prep's record now sits at 10-17. As for North Stanly, their record is now 21-3.

Things could have been worse for Pine Lake Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-47 loss to North Stanly in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can the Pride avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
