The L.C. Bird Skyhawks put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Cosby with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. That's another feather in the cap for L.C. Bird, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
L.C. Bird's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trinity Dale, who scored 13 points along with 6 steals. Dale is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Elliott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cosby still got an impressive performance from Hailey Schaaff, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Miah Carter was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
L.C. Bird's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cosby, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
L.C. Bird will be playing in front of their home fans against Manchester at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Manchester is ranked 39th, while L.C. Bird is ranked 36th). As for Cosby, they will head out on the road to face off against Midlothian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
