Baseball Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Middlesex and Buckingham Browne & Nichols, and Buckingham Browne & Nichols kept the tradition alive. Middlesex fell just short of Buckingham Browne & Nichols by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Buckingham Browne & Nichols this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in April.

Charlie Driscoll made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Middlesex has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Buckingham Browne & Nichols, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middlesex will venture away from home to challenge Phillips Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buckingham Browne & Nichols, they will head out to take on Lawrence Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
